Happy Birthday, Y!

Took Y out for her birthday brunch at Hediard. When we got out of the car, lil'Missy grinned and emphatically stated, "I'm hungry." Heh. We ordered lots of stuff. The food came fast. Portions were split equally into three. Lil'Missy was happily nom-nom-noming her glass of orange juice, eggs and bread. No surprises that the girl ate more than I did. While she ate, it gave Y and I a chance to chat. We're rarely able to chat without the little girl demand that we give her attention. It's not easy to ignore little girls. :)

I enjoy the easy breakfast and bread at Hediard. Although it offers eggs benedict and scrambled eggs (plain, with bacon or smoked salmon), it doesn't have a wide range of savory foodstuff like Wild Honey. But I prefer Hediard's vibes and flavors. Toast, honey and good jam are always welcome. Aside from juices and hot chocolate, we also rounded off the meal with fragrant pot of jasmine silver needle. No coffee was necessary. Hediard was crowded, then became blissfully empty in the hour before lunch. The servers left us in peace to complete a jigsaw puzzle that lil'Missy wanted to do.

The girl finished the brioche on her own, and only allowed us a tiny bite each.

Then we strolled over to Tanglin Mall to run a couple of errands. Y was stuck in Brown Rice Paradise for yonks. There were many exciting things on the shelves. Luckily I already stocked up last week and didn't need anything else. She wanted to buy the whole shop! Lil'Missy and I entertained ourselves by having croissants and making faces at each other. Of course bears came along. Lil'Missy decided to make me carry her bear at one point. No problem! She's the perfect excuse for me to lug a soft toy around without looking like a loony adult.

Now, my camera takes very little shots of humans and plenty of inanimate objects, and soft toys. That day, I deliberately took more photos of mother and child, and later, husband and wife, and them three. Unless they intentionally find a time to pose, they won't have that many family or couple shots together! The sun was out, and the humans were smiling so fabulously. No better time than now! Later in the day while uploading the photos, I realized there were none of Y and I! Aiyah. Never mind. She has some blurry ones on the phone taken by lil'Missy, methinks. Those would do fine.
