It's All About The Lobsters

Beautifully steamed lobster (generous portions)
on a toasted brioche with a dash of wasabi mayo.

An immense new hit by the people of Goodman steakhouses. Burger & Lobster. No menus. You're only given the drinks' list. Three choices of mains only- the burger, whole Nova Scotia lobster (steamed then grilled to keep the moisture) or have the lobster de-shelled and placed into a toasted roll. £20 each. All are served with a side of salad and fries. Casual chic vibes. Good quality pub grub. Posh fast food.

We hit up one of the outlets and went to town with the lobsters. There were burgers. But we didn't want those. The lobsters looked SO AWESOME. Granted, not near the prices in Boston, New York City or North Carolina, but at £20 for a 1-kg steamed and grilled whole lobster with giant claws, or a roll that's chockful of meat, to many Singaporeans, Burger & Lobster serves way better food than anything that currently exist at home.

We loved it so much that we've already returned thrice. Heeeeeee. On the first visit, we were on our own. The restaurants aren't taking reservations at the moment. It meant that we've to go at odd timings to beat the crazy crowds who're known to queue for an hour for a table. The staff do pick up the phone though. Convenient that the outlets open all day. The second visit was made with my friends while the man went out to a fancy dinner with his colleagues at a restaurant with three Michelin stars. Then, after a long day at the office, the man insisted on decimating yet another crustacean before heading to the cinema to watch 'The House I Live In'.

Don't know why there's even a 'burger' in the name of the restaurant. Forget the burger, seriously. Skip the desserts. Drinks' list is pretty decent. Be focused. Have a pint or two, then rip apart the crustaceans as you join in the environmentally horrific destruction of marine creatures. You can feel guilty later.

What giant claws! Served with lemon and garlic butter at the side. Pour at will.
