Finally Got To Dessert
While many went for Stars, and on an evening free of Huayi performances, I penciled in a date with Lady J who also found a slot in her schedule. Otherwise with all the happenings in March and April for both of us, the wayyy overdue Christmas date will be pushed to mid-year.
It was perfect that Lady J was cutting down on her alcohol intake. I'm still scarred by that damn hangover from 1.5 weeks ago, and am very wary about the volume of drinks imbibed. While I don't necessarily need to drink with every meal, one beer tonight felt right with the cool weather still hanging around. But I think that tonight must be the least we've drunk so far whenever we meet. Heh.
After so many times at The Pelican, finally got to dessert this evening- a Lemon Meringue 'Mess' with fresh graham cracker. Didn't mind a couple of bites. The lemon mousse portion was nice and tart. The meringue was really sweet though. Eeeks. I guess it was supposed to offset the sour bits.
Been so pampered with plenty of lovely gifts! Then B's pork belly roast came along for us to take to the dear friends' kitchen to slice, crackle the skin and share, and Lady J still thoughtfully got me (the man really; I eat the end products) tins and bottles that would be put to good use in the kitchen.
