Buying Gifts Under A Blue Sky
Absolutely grateful for the reprieve in the haze today. Sun! Blue skies! Blue. Brilliant blazing blue. My goodness. Couldn't believe my eyes. A steady other-direction wind blew too. Hallelujah.
It's been a good five hours of sunny happiness now. Stole a quick swim too, although mindful that all is not business as usual yet. The PM2.5 readings aren't encouraging...shocking, really, so it's still too early to celebrate the end of the haze. But we can always hope.
Would have gone out anyway, but with a full mask on. But today, threw caution to the wind (pardon the pun) and left the mask in the bag as I zipped in and out of the car. Revelled in a bit of sunshine and blue skies. Went to the cheerful One Olive to pick out plants, flowers and a gift for the birthday girl. The birthday girl has got really green fingers, and loves gardening. Instead of flowers for her, got her seeds, a couple of pots of plants that are absolutely unidentifiable to me, but would make a lot of sense to her, and some knick knacks. It's my new favorite go-to store for florals and greens these few months.
Although each time the patient shopkeepers will painstakingly spell out the names of the flowers and plants, I never seem to be able to remember them. They're just...flowers to me. Differently-colored. Hahahah. I pick them according to mood, and if they might fit the occasion. Oh, there's an eight-month old kitten that lives at the store. Happily growing into a cat now. Her name is Sunday. Say hello! She's playful and friendly.
