Thanks to the friends, we're now familiar many of the restaurants at Cuppage Plaza. Food at these restaurants tend to be patchy, even those at Fortune Center and Orchard Plaza, especially if the chef is having an odd day.
Stopped by Keria 「酒菜けりあ」for dinner. It has been opened since 2012; 13 years on, it seems to still do fine. It's a place we would return — for the variety the menu offers, and the decent quality of food overall. And pretty decent highballs.
I rarely bother having sashimi at izakayas and usually stick with cooked items. Things kept arriving at the table. Yakitori which included chicken skin, dashi-maki tamago, et cetera. Luckily we managed to cancel a negitoro maki. LOL
I couldn't resist having gyoza as my 'carbs', and also had to get the goya chanpuru. I do like Keria's version of goya chanpuru which came with tofu and pork belly. I loved it. I resisted the urge to get zaru soba and even a lovely steaming hot bowl of rice. There would invariably be too much food to finish.
The friends were spot on about Keria's beef garlic fried rice and mentaiko spaghetti. They were good! I ate quite a bit of the spaghetti and left the rice to the table to sort out. Of course we were so greedy and couldn't finish the fried rice. They couldn't stuff all the beef in either.
Tapau-ed the leftovers home. That became my lunch for the next day. Hurhurhur. I'm not too fussed about the wagyu beef, but its flavors worked well in a stir-fry, especially when the leftovers of bittergourd and egg were mixed in too. I added more vegetables (nai bai) to it the next day. That was a delicious bowl.
