My Daily Breakfast on a Staycation

I can't eat first thing in the morning, and on this staycation, there's no reason too. I have breakfast till after our beach mornings. We get Choya's breakfast platter delivered at 8am, then I feed her a small portion, and off we go to the beach. We get back by 10.15am to Sanctuary Tearoom, and have ourselves a bite before the breakfast service closes at 10.30am. But people always linger till 11am.

Of course Choya could sit with us at the breakfast table. We have a preferred table under the fan and near the giant air coolers and somehow we always managed to have it although there isn't such a thing as reservations for breakfast.

The morning breakfast spread at Amara Sanctuary's Sanctuary Tearoom is fairly decent, but nothing 'luxurious' in that sense if you want to compare it to Capella or Raffles Sentosa. There's an egg station of course, and you could choose your eggs. At least. The DIY coffee machine doesn't stock great beans so my long black is always not ideal. Arrrrrgh. The staff would kindly do an iced black for us, but the beans. Dohhhh.

I couldn't deviate from my preferred breakfast. Somehow during this staycation, I didn't feel like granola or yoghurt or açai bowls. Eggs, yes. But I wanted noodles. The noodle station was a DIY thing. They had a choice of thick beehoon/vermicelli, thin yellow egg noodles or thick yellow noodles. I was a bit annoyed by people who leave their portions boiling in the soup pot for like 10-15 minutes. I was like, 'People, this is blanching. The ingredients are already cooked; it's not instant noodles. You only need 180 seconds to be sure you won't get get the runs even on a sensitive stomach.'

Anyway, I got my daily bowl of noodles for four mornings. Tehehehehe. Totally wasn't bored with it. It's always thick beehoon topped with greens, chilli padi, fishballs, fishcake, ngoh hiang or spam. I got cubes of the salted egg and century egg from the porridge station. I was very happy.
