Romeo & Juliet

The Imperial Russian Ballet is of course good. Tonight, they put on a beautiful performance of 'Romeo & Juliet'The rich red and gold hues of Esplanade Theatre complemented the stage setting and subdued lighting.

It was a very enjoyable interpretation. Classical moves, beautiful lines, expressive touches laced with humor. While lovely to have an orchestra to accompany the ballet, the Novaya Opera Orchestra seemed a tad lackluster.

I love watching ballet on dvds, but to watch them in a full performance on stage, it can be a bit boring. :P Tonight, I definitely didn't mind sitting through all 150 minutes.
