Only Whisky

Whisky was need tonight. It's a soothing balm to unquiet emotions.

A dram single malt whisky, on the rocks would be great. Perhaps two, or three. Knocking back a couple of glasses would be absolutely, for the want of a better word, heavenly.

I'm sad, but not dejected. It's the cycle of life afterall. I just need a little time to get used to the idea that my grandfather will pass on very soon and I will no longer have the honor and pleasure of his conversation and company.

Those long deep gulps soothed me in ways nothing else could.

people die. it's those we love that's the hardest to let go. it doesn't matter if it's an aunt or someone removed. it's the bond that matters.

and this bond will stay as long as you live. your grandpa will be with you.

Q said...

What is it to die but to stand naked
in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing, but to
free the breath from its restless tides, that it may
rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of
silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain
top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your
limbs, then truly you shall dance.
Kahlil Gibran

Take care Imp.

hey, I don't really know what to say, just that I understand - lost both my granddads in my teens. He will always be alive in your heart and in the hearts of those whose lives have been touched by him. hugs and prayers

hi there, i have been looking for local smsw maniacs.

i am thrilled at the sight of a macallan 12 and am also suprised that it went on the rock, although i add drops of water to some in order for their magic to unfold (before sniffing).

out of curiousity, are you a malt maniac? perhaps you could contribute by giving your ratings (out of 100) on the macallan 12.

btw where did you obtain yours? i saw them malignly shelved at carrefour (suntec), out of the obvious. it was perhaps the only resounding smsw available.

i am keen to learn of more stores where smsw sit triumphantly in their thrones. i am also a cognac fan. will revisit for your reply.

thank you.

hey anonymous. this was at The Pines club. this 12 is about 6/10. i'm just a whisky maniac. i love single malts when i want something smooth and rich.

some bars serve singele malt. Ice Cold Beer and Velvet serves single malt. So does Ink. many should stock single malts.

at the liquor stores, try Jasons' and Mediya supermarkets' liquor section. they've a good selection. otherwise, mine's from DFS.

i like it on the rocks. 4 cubes of ice and let it stand for 5 min before 1st sip.

hey imp,

i forgot one more. how much did you pay for it at the dfs? 70cl/700ml or 1 litre?

thanks.

imp said...
