First play, first performance, first audience at the first Singapore Theatre Festival.
Ovidia Yu was at her satirical best with The Silence of the Kittens.
She "realize[d] it is not [her] my role to champion issues or campaign for or against the Government. [She] I present[s] herself as a non-political observer and [has] have no intention of exploiting [her] my access to the media to undermine the government's standing with the electorate. [She] I hope[s] to remain a constructive critic and [has] have no intention of becoming a partisan player in politics."
Directed by Aidli 'Alin' Mosbit, the cast was tight. Raw, a little unwieldly during transition of scenes; notwithstanding the flubbing of some lines, Alecia Kim Chua, Mohamed Fita Helmi, Timothy Nga and Esther Yap acted their hearts out. Their lines struck many chords with the audience and had them in stitches at many points.
Ah....how exciting it is to see the inner cat revealed in everyone.

Hehz. The photo of the cats is endearing. The look of (kitten-like) innocence, of confidence, and of seduction. Purr-fect!
