We had a great dinner at Z's home. The dad's an absolute darling. He loves having us over and cooks for us like we are his children. He always makes us feel like we're part of the family.
Best of all, the dad would always make us fresh fruit juice. On hot evenings, he blended cold watermelon juice for us to quench our thirst. The other evenings, he never minded the hard work in squeezing the oranges by hand so that we could have that sweet clear juice.
For dinner tonight, he picked the freshest buys from the seafood market. Each dish was cooked with love and thought. The fishball soup was so comforting. He took the trouble to make the fishballs by hand. He steamed the stingray in his style of assam belachan instead of the usual sambal. That was refreshingly good. The kai lan was crunchy and tasty. Needless to say, the fresh clams, crabs and prawns need little help to bring out their natural sweetness.
I have a sneaky feeling that he cooked this meal for the man. For some reason, Z's parents really dote on the man. They practically adopted him! They can't wait to feed him and fatten him up. Heh.

Oh please,my dad dotes on u galS and the man.. by the way,he is planning for the next dinner already.. (the fishball that day weren't his "usual standard"... he say he must make the fishball again for the imp)

Hey! The dad must go very early in the morning to buy! We went before and it was terrible having to drag ourselves up at 4.30 in the morning.
