I haven't been to Krung Thep for a while. I'm out of toiletries, pills, lingerie and NaRaYa laundry/shoe bags, sauces and spices. So I've to make a trip to stock up.
Maybe buy some art pieces for the new apartment. Maybe buy some kitchen silver. Will grab local designer stuff from Emporium, Gaysorn Plaza and the sorts. And load up on Christmas pressies that won't burn a large hole in my pocket. Don't think I'll be as ambitious as my girlfriends who last year, shipped the entire container-full of furniture back to sgp after they bought out the furniture shops there. I shall explore the little-known alleys to discover new eateries and see if my favorite haunts are still in business.
The peeps will be in Michigan still. Oei, can you finish your theses faster?! So no rendezvous dates for us. Without you, I won't get to see the local joints that much. *pout* This should be an exciting trip. The city has changed quite a bit in the past year. I look forward to nosing around the really hip and happening spots off the tourist track. Gonna try to get some good discounts.

This might not be your usual 'happening' scene but if you haven't already checked this out, then you have to check out Khao San Rd - by night. No Gayson down that stretch but its locked in a time warp and I kind of like it.
your thai sounds too polished to be a floozy speaking.
bel: i will. thanks! bkk is my playground! spent tons of time there. i don't mind khao san. but prices of stuff are way high compared to other places. i love that big thai restaurant housed in a white building at the end of khao san. can't remember the name. it should have finished renovations early this year.
kit: coming frm you, that's a big compliment. thanks!!! :)
u can speak thai?! wow! i like "emporium" with the local designer shops too. good designs and quality at good prices. that's about the only thing i like about going to bkk. and i like naraya too, especially the bedroom slippers, which are so cheap there that i just dispose them when they are dirty, save the trouble of washing.
dee

haha. it's as though you're going grocery shopping! have fun!
dee: yup. spent 3 years studying the language. plus a whole army of thai friends to yabber with. i love bkk. plenty to do there away frm where the singaporeans are.

I love BKK but can never speak the language...spare a few greetings...
Don't forget to head down for spa if you're in the mood for that. Dusit Thani is great to me although I heard the Westin is even better...
