Wah, Ah Pek :: Road Hazard

Wah Ah Pek, I was looking out of the window for fun. And I saw you on the bicycle. I watched as our car pass you by. Then I heard one long knock against the back door. I saw you stop and get off the bicycle. You didn't fall. I came out to ask, "Are you okay? What happened?"

You said we (and the car) knocked into you.

Wah, Ah Pek, how can talk like that? I distinctly saw you swerve into my car. I also saw that you didn't wobble badly or fall.

If my car had nudged you at that speed, you'd have fallen. Confirm one. Some more your lousy pointed brake handle scratched my one passenger door at the rear. Light even scratches from start to end. No deep starting dents.

Wah, Ah Pek, my Hokkien not as saat as yours. Cannot out-talk you. Bo bian lor, must call police and tell them to come and check that you no injured and got no scratches. Otherwise later you change the story and say you here pain there pain and demand compensation. Better cover my own ass first.

Ah Pek refused to have the police come.

Wah, Ah Pek, if you want to do your daily commute on the bicycle, for god's sake, please wear a helmet and use a road-worthy bicycle lahCan at least try to cycle in a straight line instead of going all over the place; expecting cars to give way to you no matter what? These Ah Peks on rickety bicycles are a road hazard man.

not just on bicycles, even those who jaywalk. a friend just hit an old man. Old man steps off kerb to cross road. Friend sees him, slows down. Old man comes to a complete stop in the middle of the left lane. Friend sees him stop, so decides to move forward. Old man then decides to walk AGAIN. Harley hits old man, old mad later dies. Sad story all around...

oh dear corsage. that's so...sad and haizz. i hate pple who jaywalk. especially the elderly. i really don't understand what makes them think they can just walk across. traffic's so heavy. i try to drive safe. but i'm deathly afraid of pple who just dash out. and the stupid laws here will make it my fault no matter what.

AGREE!!! This happened to me before! The Ah Pek kooning when I was turning left and then crashed into my car. Best part, he quickly elang for fear that I'll ask him to compensate for the dent he made.

I tell ya, I hate bicycles and motorbikes. Must ban them from their road!

As someone pushing the big four 'o', i can understand that reaction retards, and generally some gets more grumpy. I don't profess to be always sympathetic but some of them do have a sad background.

Ok, ok, Imp, not siding him, i feel bad for your experience. My only advice to you is, next time you with your killer bod and cleavage please don't look out of car window at ah peks! You only gonna cause accident...heehee

clamshell: you're so right.

corsage: goodness. that's so...uncalled for and ur friend got wound up in the mess. sigh.

jazzgal: that's true. no self-defence law, and ancient traffic laws regarding accidents/injuries/deaths circumstances.

sesame: they can be so dangerous sometimes! luckily he elang and not say u knocked him.

suzie w: yah lor. that's why we didn't and wouldn't ask him for compensation. more like i got out of the car to see what happened and if he's okay. and the first words he said were we knocked him! wah lau. i was wearing a very decent t-shirt!!!

That is the reason why I always try to keep at least 1/2 lane distance away from cyclist.
