We rented a cute little Honda Jazz that gave us the freedom to go anywhere around Phuket. With every trip, we had gotten to know the island very intimately.
While I totally enjoyed the Thai radio stations, it drove the man crazy to listen to Thai songs all day. Luckily we had a cheap FM transmitter (cost us S$15 only and runs on 2 AAA batteries. We were too cheapo to get the one at S$99 for thrash and burn purposes) to plug in the ipod and listen to 60GB worth of songs we dig over the weekend.
We love these wireless FM transmitters! They are a boon to driving rented cars on vacations!

this reminds me of my trip to Prague. i went alone and rented a university dorm room. all by myself.
after two nights i was bugged by the lack of sound. i couldn't listen to music with earphones on anymore. so the next day i went to buy a small set of speakers. just plug it into where you usually plug in the earphones. no extra batteries needed.
to this day i still refuse to throw the speakers away :)
Get an adaptor - stick it into your cigarette holder. Costs less than $10 and doesn't run on batteries at all. Then you tune it in to two or three different frequencies. I've never gone back since :)
How come your ipod so big one..??
muahahhaha!!
music to keep him sane more like it!
he probably concentrates better on the driving with familiar sounds!
kikare: music is so crucial when you're travelling alone!
dawn: ahhh? this one is cool! sounds good!
mamabok: huh? aren't these models all the same size? this is the older model of the video ipod. the shuffle and nano are too small to contain all our songs.
meteor: hahaha. it's to his benefits of course!
