Sitting Down To Dinner

We had the pleasure of taking the man's parents out for dinner at one of their current favorite restaurants - Hai Tien Lou.

It's the dad's birthday! It's kinda tough getting a present for the man's dad. What do you get for a man who has everything?! For a long while now, we've been topping up his credits on itunes. It gets a bit boring after a while. We thought about getting him a Wii. But we weren't sure if he could tear himself away from his current persona in Heavenly Sword and Project Gotham Racing. In the end, we settled for a belt as a practical gift and gathered for dinner in his honor.

The food is beautifully flavored with a light modern twist. We really enjoyed every dish. Like hawks, we watched the parents' every morsel and noted their expressions. We wanted to make sure they ate properly and in full portions. We wanted them to enjoy the food. The silly mom actually wanted to split the bill with us for dinner. Of course we ignored her. It was our treat!

as we get older, it takes more creativity when it comes to buying presents for people! so hard to buy! i tell you, we'll end up going back to buying the most frivolous gifts just because it's more fun! hah!

That's very thoughtful and sweet of both of you. Guess the folks are extremely delighted by the gestures.
