Very Secure Indeed

We order a fair bit of stuff online. So we're very accustomed to seeing all sorts of packaging for parcels and envelopes, secure or otherwise.

The other day, a rather big parcel arrived for the man. It measured 40cm x 40cm x 15cm. We wondered what it could be. He didn't recall what could have required shipping in such a big box. When he opened it, he grinned.

It was the palm-size DI unit. It was sitting pretty in the middle of a huge pile of foam balls. This was probably one of the most secure packaging we ever came across! (some might call it kiasu...) Hey, whatever works I suppose. The man's definitely a happy customer.

The man was very amused and impressed by the online shop that took so much care in delivering its international orders. As for me, I'm overjoyed that I got lots of foam balls to re-use for my various parcels that I send out regularly.

you know, these foam balls are really cool. add a ton of bubble wrap and old newspaper, we can even ship glass bowls across the seas intact.

while you're overjoyed by the abundant supply of foam balls for your parcels, do you also think about the waste issue?
it's just too much.
(not that i don't appreciate your parcel, i do i do! but there was not absolutely no need to use foam balls to protect the content you sent to me leh :) )

mamabok: heh.

meteor: true.

dawn: correct!

queenie: yup!

kikare: aye. since it's already been sent over, i re-use what i have to send out all the stuff! the other party usually re-use them for her other parcels too. no choice for your bubblewrap- it comes with the envelope. u think u can reuse it somewhere?
