The colleague is going off on a work trip far far away. Someplace where regular cell phones don't work. So she went out to rent a satellite cell phone. When she came back with it, we couldn't stop giggling.
It's been a long time since any of us saw a cell phone this big! The satellite phones that I've been using on dive trips were also a bit more streamlined! Apparently, the person who processed the paperwork for her warned, "If it's a cloudy day, the phone might not work!"
Oh dear. I suppose at S$30-a-week rental, we can't ask for very much when it comes to aesthetics...
Better look for a bigger handbag to fit the phone in.

Oh dear me. That's like my home's cordless in the early 90s.
haha, our deck phones in the hotel look something like that. maybe with shorter antenna and slightly slimmer. It always feels like a rock in my hand.

jemej: it's heavy! it looks more like a walkie talkie! except that walkie talkies now are wayy smaller.
Hehhe!! ya.. satellite phones are bigger.. than norm.. it suxs.. but it works good... most times. ;)
