More Kitchen Experiments

The man loves Indian food. At the moment, his repertoire consists of only a mean pumpkin curry dhaal. Actually, all kinds of dhaal. He does dhaal very well and we always have a pot in the fridge for late night suppers.

Of late, he has been consulting with the friend's mother on what sort of spices to use in his cooking. He's been experimenting with buah keras in his curries. Fish and chicken mainly. He really likes fish curry.

The other evening, he tried out a nasi biryani recipe for a simple dinner. More like a plain pilaf that well. A vegetarian version with shallots and cashew nuts. For meat, racks of lamb were roasted. There was our favorite tart chilli yoghurt dip to complement the rich meat. The best part was that the dip also went surprisingly well with the biryani.

Talk about fusion food.
