I had a lovely morning sprint on the wheels along the East Coast Park. As I trundled along, wind in my face, I felt really alive. It felt so good to breathe in that fresh sea breeze.
But there were many little humans along the track who scared the shit out of me. While I could skate and run pretty well, I could not stop properly at all. I could do all kinds of stops on ice. But I haven't learnt how to brake on tarmac. So when these little humans popped up in my path, my heart dipped numerous times as I gingerly skipped and swung around them.
Ugh. A short run, my skating buddy said, not more than 10km. All right. Let me fix my skates and we shall go all the way to Changi. You know what's awesome? After the sprint, I plunged into the pool and did 15 laps to stretch out the muscles. Woots.

you two are amazing! short run = not more than 10km?! *hangs head down in shame*
i'm motivated though - i'll run with latte tonight!
*raise eyebrows* u on exercise binge?!
those little people scare me anywhere! especially the knee-high sized ones.
I'm ashamed. The only exercise I did today was walk around Orchard.
Wow..!! 10km..?? wow..!!
makes me feel ashamed too, my exercise today was sleeping for the whole day...omg.. =p
i'm deathly scared of little humans. i've been felled by a couple before...even when i slowed to just walking speed.
sounds like some real-life video game where u hv to avoid the little human obstacles ... or make it more like GTA (Grand Thief Auto for all u aunties out there) where u try to bump into them instead!
yuling: hehehhehe. not me. SHE is!! hope you got a good run with latte!
queenie: no leh. just needed to run.
sinlady: EXACTLY!
jemej: that's also walking! if u include the shopping bags, it's equivalent to carrying light weights!
mamabok: on wheels- very fast and easy.
elaine: must move ur limbs once in a while.
meteor: little humans have made me fall before. SCARY.
cavalock: i wish i could play bumper cars with them. but i don't think their parents would like it very much!
Wooootsss!! Go imp go!!!
geesmo: yea! and you, go geesmo go!!!!
East Coast Park really congested (with families) nowadays. haven't been to the eastside for a long time, i hope the changi coastal park connector has been completed - think you have less chance of meeting little delicate humans there ;)
Wah you the can! I can hardly move my butt, except to the fridge to grab my choc. Ha.
slurp: yes! the park connector's all done. so when we got to the tanah merah golf club part, it was so beautifully clear of humans.
sesame: no choice lah. i expanding horizontally at a very scary speed now.
Oh yes! About how people trust you to avoid them skillfully. I have the same experience on my motorbike! These people seem to assume that I can avoid them at will and so they'll cross haphazardly in front of me while I try to keep my balance on the bike!
I ride my bike reeeeel slowly. Quite unlike my style of driving.
The days of me doing 10K is long forgotten. I'm now restarting from scratch and taking it really slowly. Let's hope my ITB behaves!
evehow: wah. i don't envy you having to have 100% concentration avoiding humans rather than the cars! take care of that ITB. SWIM instead!?
