Actually Working

The formalities and niceties are done. It has taken the colleague an amazing two years of routing the concept through the approval process before seeing this come to fruition over the weekend.

This inaugural event has happened. Smoothly so, we like to think. The colleague is handing over this portfolio to me. She told me that I'd have to start using my brains. I merrily ignored her till a month ago. She jetted off to beautiful Australia for a 2-week holiday. And I had to continue with the project planning process. I was drawn into the whirlpool. It had been just intense.

I couldn't quite believe that the event is now over. The weekend simply flew by. Didn't realize the significance of this event. It didn't seem a big deal to me. During the weekend, all I cared was that everything ran seamlessly. But now, I'm slowly realizing its full meaning.

I'm nervous about it. I can do it quite easily. Yes. It is tiring. But it's pretty fun. And I really don't mind holding cute little Furla and Ferragamo bags. It's not very much different from the chi chi PR events I used to do. At least for this one, I need not mess up my schedule to go buy roast duck in a foreign land just because somebody has sudden cravings.

The thing is, I've always liked my little hidey hole. It's scary because I think it's a 'high profile' project that has zero margin for error. I'm also worried that I'll turn into a drone. Well, as long as I still find it fun, I'm all good. I'm still the imp. That doesn't change.

so all went well, and you are home, safe and sound, reunited with loved ones, and that's what matters. :)
