Braised Lamb Shanks & Chilli Yoghurt Dip

The man outdid himself in the kitchen. There were many dishes and dips on the menu. We each had a cute little cup of mushroom soup as an amuse bouche. He also made a delicious guacamole.

He indulged me by making my favorite vegetarian pasta. Hee heee. I'm quite addicted to that.
Aside from the seaweed miso cod and mash, he made a second set of mains in the braised lamb shanks and pilaf.

The highlight of the evening was really about sharing the Bowmore 21 y.o with the whisky-loving friends. The boys also had a short jam session and traded insights on the best sort of picks that suited their individual playing styles.
We were completely floored when this sweet couple showed up, grinning, a bottle of Glenlivet 21 y.o in hand. What was really beautiful was that the 2 bottles of whisky surprisingly complemented the dishes and their flavors. The whisky was both aperitif and digestif!

We didn't intend it to be so. But what a treat it was for us to taste and compare both 21 y.o alongside a superb dinner.
Thank you for the lovely company.

To whisky and friendship, people.
