For days, I've been walking by this little camera shop on my way to work. I was really chuffed to see such old school cameras on the display shelves of a dingy shop.
I resisted looking at the Voightlander. It wasn't quite what I wanted. It had always been the vintage Voightlander Bessa I Folding Camera. (Refusing to buy it off ebay.) But I was rather taken by this 1970s Icarex 35S. I knew it wasn't made from the best quality materials typical of that era. Still, it appealed. To my slight horror, I realized I wanted it.
Work ended early one afternoon. With a sigh, I stepped into the shop to go bargain the price down with the shopkeeper so that I could take home the Icarex 35S.

but ebay does have pretty good deals for that...
re the ballet shoe lamp, didn't we see something similar at the shopping mall near my home? The shop where you got me the stained glass window decoration.
I'm in the market for a new camera too.. :)
hey, they'll look really good on display at home too. a whole row of vintage!
i'm getting a new camera. my friend said i should get the GRII, i'm more for a Lumix or Leica cos i really like the current Lumix i have. then my friend told me Lumix and Leica are the same except for the logos, which makes perfect sense cos Lumix does use Leica lens and that's why i likey.
i guess i need to see them in the flesh and feel them before i can decide :)
meteor: i know lor. i see how. i want to feel and touch before i buy anything.
kachunknorge: OH! thanks for the reminder. i completely forgot about the shop.
mamabok: go shop around a bit more! this one i bought is just for keeps. i prob won't use it often.
natasha: yesh!!!
kikare: ummm...no quite. yes. lumix uses leica lens. but a leica is NOT a lumix and a lumix will NEVER be a leica. the photo quality is completely different! the Leica Digilux is AWESOME. i'm a purist lah. :) after my current GrD dies, i'll prob get a Leica or the GrD II. :) u go shop around, test and see how!
oh nice! it's like finding a gem out of nowhere!
to be honest i'm taken by the look of Leica than GRII, and with your words, i think i will seriously consider paying those extra bucks for a Leica instead of Lumix.
we'll see. damn still almost 2 months to go!!
cheryl: it perked me up totally!
kikare: leica leica leica! *devious grin*
