A Night Surprise

I went to the gig with total skepticism. What I heard earlier from the very young bands made me cringe. Great effort, but hardly listenable. Typical, really. Plus they were Chinese indie bands. What do I know about Chinese songs?! Indie bands at that!

Well, I didn't expect to be blown away by this particular band. They opened the short set with a pretty good close rendition of The Cure's 'Lullaby'. I might not completely understand what the singer was growling about. But the band sounded damn tight.

The other friends didn't quite understand Mandarin either. But they could see how good the band was on the whole. The rest of the band's songs was nothing short of awesome. Very Nine Inch Nails.

The La'Dies, they call themselves.
