It's not a Holocaust movie per se.
Black Book is excellent.
It is one of those movies that stays with me.
Peter Verhoeven's focused directing and the enchanting Carice Van Houten's superb acting ensured a tight storyline.
The great irony at the end isn't lost on us. The protagonist got out of World War II, only to step straight into The Suez War of 1956.
This is one movie that called for discussion after, over wine and prata.

i really enjoyed it! it was a good movie.
agree BB is excellent. while not strictly a holocaust story it is nonetheless about surviving the odds
hey what is "prata"?
I only know it as "talk" in Swedish, which coincidentally fits so well in your sentence, whatever it's supposed to mean :)
prata after movie!! argh..this is what we used to do back in Malaysia during uni time...miss those days..
kit: yes!
sinlady: very optimistic. but the ending brought them straight into another war. not sure where that optimism's floating to.
kikare: it's like an asian pizza. it's basically flour that's smoothened out flat, whipped and slapped on the table and grilled. you eat it plain or with egg and onions. must eat it with curry! wiki it!
elaine: it's our dinner mah. so prata sounded good! haven't had that for like, months!
