A Dinner It Was

I worked hard for my food okay. Washed and scrubbed so much! Used up ¾ of a bottle of green Fairy.

Last night's simple dinner went down well with the friends! Everyone had second helpings!
The friends brought over a truckload of Kyoho grapes and momo!!!!

Japanese cold ramen salad :: Old cucumber and pork soup :: Bulgogi beef and Korean rice

Of course there were bottles of whisky. There was a Highland Park 25 y.o, a Glenlivet 21 y.o and a Bowmore 21 y.o. The sweet fruit went so well with the peaty single malts.

Ummm... yah. The tv screen was tuned to that table-tennis match. It was a sort of morbid fascination. It was kinda eerie watching everyone watch the match with nary an emotion. There was no sense of exalted pride, no exhilaration, zilch. So it came to pass that our country won an Olympic silver. Right. Okay. Paper credentials. We were like, whatever. We haven't gotten past the question of "Does it mean anything, really?"

Frankly, we were interested in the National Day Rally. The content would set policies for the next year. Yet, we all squealed with delight when we realized that 'Live From Abbey Road' on Central had Dashboard Confessional. I guess we really don't feel anything much for table-tennis.
