Tau Kwa Pau

The girlfriend's family has practically adopted me. They invited me over for the grandmother's birthday celebration.

I tell you, the food was awesome. They're Teochew and they do the traditional dishes to perfection.

I love their tau kwa paus best. Drizzle it with homemade extra spicy sambal belachan, they're out of this world. Every bite is to be savored.

I get to eat the tau kwa paus again because they packed me loads of food to bring home, including the chillies!!!

elaine: it's a quintessentially teochew-nonya dish. google it. there're quite a couple of places that still sell tau kwa paus here. but the best are found at home.
