Atop The Cliff
We decided to dine in at the hotel's restaurant.
We heard that it served really good food.
Having eaten awesome Thai food at lunch, we wanted to try its much-raved about dinner menu.
We were pleasantly surprised to see that patrons still bothered to dress up for dinner. Not overly so, but beach glamor for sure.
It felt nice in an old-fashioned way. The man was the sort who would still put on a casual shirt over jeans if we were dining out proper. I would of course, take along jewelry to add a sparkle.
There were almost no Thai dishes on the menu. Its continental offerings were delicious. There was no air-conditioned area in the restaurant. The evening was cool. Al fresco fine dining in the tropics never felt so good.
From the presentation to the mix of flavors, the experience was excellent. The South African Teddy Hall 2006 Chenin Blanc we ordered went beautifully with our meal.
Perched atop the cliff, we stared out at the dark expanse of the sea. We watched the lights on a boat fade into the distance. Then it was pitch black.
There was such tranquility to be dining in the midst of nature.
