Bouldering

I got my first taste of rock climbing proper at one side of the waterfall. Thought of the day: I dive, I don't turn brown. I climb, I get burnt.

There was an indoor session. We were given detailed instructions on gear, correct usage, hand-holds and falling. But nothing too 'cheem'. They weren't very into rigorous basic training and structure I suppose. They were more like, "Oh, there! See rock? Not high. Climb rock."

I was inspired by Frou. So I thought this trip would be the perfect opportunity to check out the sport. I'm obviously no pro like her. But damn. I wish I can get those triceps. All those core strength training in pilates and flexibility leftover from gymnastics have been put to good use. It's as if rock climbing is the ultimate test of how well I have done in these 2 sports. (Pilates isn't exactly a sport now is it?)
My instructors, with all due respect, were like agile monkeys. I couldn't fathom how the hell they could climb so gracefully so fast. I felt like an ox trying to scale the side.

After five short 90-minute climbs over two days, my deltoids, triceps and quads are aching like mad now. Every move I make is pure sweet agony. By the way, I'm woefully out of shape.
