Many Animals

We aren't exactly the most friendly people. So it must be the animals who are. There are so many dogs in Phuket. They are mutts. But they are the cleverest creatures.

One late night stroll on the hotel grounds, we made friends with a sweet mutt. Come evening, she will seek us out for a run. She whines by way of greeting. I've learnt to recognize that and her way of touching her cold wet nose to my hand.

At Lim's, there was a resident cat and a dog running around. I wish the animals eat mozzies. It's just too bad that Lim's is currently situated in the middle of house construction and a garbage dump. It's not possible to sit al fresco without being bitten by a dozen mozzies. So indoor comfort it had to be for us. When we left the restaurant, the cat and the dog were softly sprawled by the front door. They stared at us curiously for a minute. Then they went back to their business of pondering the things that silly humans do.
