Rockin' On

I was completely fascinated by this award. It had a curved bottom which didn't seem to give much surface area for a standing display.

When I lifted it out of the box, I didn't see any hooks or additional stands given. I was scratching my head as to how one was supposed to display it.

As I stared at the logo, realization dawned. The leg of the rocking chair ran parallel to the bottom of the award.

I placed it upright and shook it gently.

It swayed like a rocking chair would.

So fun!!! So clever!!!! I kept it rocking. It occupied me for a good 15 minutes. :)

meteor + elaine: heeeeee.

carrie: i can't claim it. i only wash toilets. :) there were a couple of these given out. i guess ours will go back to the box and sit in the storeroom. it's kinda 'nice'. but it doesn't do anything for us. it'll just be thrown out along with the year end junk.

To the Top Fund Raiser, how about a calculator to add up the total sum collected? It could be put to good use and not gather dust.
Of course some people may collect plagues.

anon@1:36pm: for some strange reason, they like giving out 'recognition'. which to me, is pointless coz the money is spent on all these dinners, stuff and all. we've told them no. but they insisted on giving it. whatever. i suppose it's a PR thingy. we don't care about plaques, but we've seen so many proudly display theirs. so well. i guess some will put it to proper display.

I guess its still a nice little gesture for you guys. Sometimes the little touches - though not as elegant or slick - help to warm our hearts. At least it is more cost effective yet heartfelt than some of the stuff we give to our donors!

p.s. to earlier post: Again, you are very kind. You're assuming she had brains to bash out in the first place.

coolinsider: i'm sure for quite a number of donors, an email/letter would suffice really. if not, invites to events at the museums would be absolutely wonderful. no need to give donors anything lah. i reall think there's a clear line between donors and sponsors. ;p

kachunknorge: babe!!! HAHAHAHHAHAHA.

My dear, you HAVE to stop assigning intelligence to people who obviously don't have brains!
