Women Are Their Own Greatest Enemy

Remind me again the thousand and one things that I hate about women.

If one woman can publicly and repeatedly remark to another that she wouldn't want an unmarried female as a boss, I think that's the greatest irony in the world.

When you climb to the top of the corporate ladder, you are judged by the virtue of your marital status?

It is as shallow as me saying,
"I wouldn't want a (fat) married woman as my boss."

Her comment is so superficial till it doesn't even consider competencies and life passions within. Among other things, I can't quite reconcile her lofty position with her narrow-mindedness. She is the perfect stereotype. Anyway, she really should exercise before her legs buckle under her mighty girth.

That's what I call a bloody joke.

That is one woman I find distasteful. I respect that values she hold. Yet she goes against everything I stand for.

I have found many crude and crass, but not as distasteful as this one who liberally throws religion behind every phrase she utters. I wish she doesn't talk so much or tell so many she-thinks-are-entertaining stories that many of us aren't quite interested in. It doesn't endear her to me. It turns me off. Everything is from her experience and her point of view. These views have no space for alternative opinions or voices.

I want to keep my distance. May I not cross paths with her.

Ah. Somebody mentioned that she wears a big diamond ring. It's probably not too fake. I've seen the ring. I just can't recall how many carats it is.

Oh well. I just have to make sure that mine's bigger than hers. ;p Tell me you hate women too.

I have no problem with women, both the married and unmarried variety. Just with women who have chips (gender-variety) on their shoulders or women who expect their female surbordinates/colleagues to work like men.

is there more you aren't saying here? like she hates gays too? or she wouldn't want a non-christian as a boss? some people can be assholes that way. there is no professionalism at work anymore.

she sounds like she's the epitome of all that is wrong with your industry.

and of womankind.

I can't stand it too when women friends complain about women bosses. You wonder where their senses went. I find it more a matter of personality.

And erm... no need to compare with such a loser! No matter if it's just carat size.

CDR: AYEEE!

kachunknorge: exactly. i don't have a problem with women bosses. only with their competencies and their objectivity which are always the defining points of a leader. what has anything else gotta do with anything?

sinlady: HAHAHAH. *air kisses sinlady*

meteor: WAH LAU. so pointed you are.

jazzgal: you're quite right.

zewt: tell me about it! that's my pet peeve! what's wrong with women bosses? my most feared woman boss then trained me so well that i can work for anyone after her. incld all anal ones.

wildgoose: hahah. no lah. figuratively! i'm joking. not bothered about comparing.

I think women tend to be tougher on other women. I've always thought that women dress better for other women than for men. Men wouldn't notice - nor do I think they sit around swapping notes on what other men are wearing or how they look in it for example :)

I know we complain sometimes that men treat us as inferior because of our gender, but we're guilty sometimes of making it an issue too. A man as a boss is judged on his characteristics, but a woman's gender somehow always comes into it. It's not for example, that she's just incompetent, she's an incompetent WOMAN boss. It's not just the men making these comments too.

I guess we should all (and I include myself here)just try and be kinder to each other!

I am guilty!! I am terrified of working with women bosses, irregardless of marital status. Because they are more critical, more emotional, more judgemental.. etc etc.. urgh!
