Mr Grey

The friend has a parrot in the house. I'm certain that the parrot likes males only. When we girls talk to him, he doesn't respond at all. In fact, he'll fluff up his feathers and look mighty haughty. If he's in a good mood, he might grudgingly squeak a "Hello."

When the males talk to him, he responds with an enthusiastic "Hello!" and continuous coos. So not fair.

The other night, he was in a really good mood. Not only did he flapped his wings and responded to my greetings, he also sorta grinned at me. For the 2 hours that we were there, Mr Grey cooed and repeated 'Hellos' all over. Hmmph.

Not sure if bird is a Mr or Ms Grey. Yrs ago, vet said a blood sample was needed to determine its gender-maybe there are simpler tests now.

The bird just takes a while to warm up to people. The african grey i have at home doesn't warm up to people easily either. And it still doesn't like to be touched except to get a head scratch.

wildgoose - nope this one likes men. He isn't very keen on the women in the house, hence I think it's a MS Grey actually :)

dawn: hahahaa. i can never remember.

anon@6.43pm: hmmm. wow. need to verify its gender still!

wildgoose: really?! got attitude loads!

dawn: hmmmmm. maybe a Ms. maybe.

Dawn - hmm... then it's really funny it's responding to imp. :p and maybe my parrot is a "he". Cos it likes me more than hubby despite hubby has lived with it for more than 15 years.

Imp - it's shy lah.
