I love dips and hummus. Especially with a bit of pita bread and plenty of carrots, I would be a happy imp.
We've all been saying it- there is a dearth of Greek restaurants in Singapore. Zero, I'd presume. WHY?! It's the food culture I suppose. Since Athens closed, we haven't had any good Greek food or dips. I'm not sure if Portobelle (which has taken over the premises) is up to par.
So far, if we want good dips, we will just have to make them at home. In London, there is no lack of restaurants or cafes serving dips. One of our favorites is this cosy Konaki Greek Restaurant. We will always take a walk for dinners at Konaki. It's comfort food! At £35 for 2, it's a really awesome meal with mezze platters and dessert all in! I like this unpretentious little place.
The man makes good moussaka. It's better than alot of Greek restaurants in other places, but it's nowhere as good as Konaki's. The vegetarian and lamb moussaka is to die for. Their secret lies in the bechamel sauce. The final production becomes crispy on top and creamy in the middle like all bechamel sauce do after being baked. However, Konaki's has this unusual lightness of taste that's evenly flavored.
