We ate at home the other evening because the man wanted to try out another style of cooking pasta.
The man browsed a couple of recipes, pulled them together and made oven-baked seafood pasta in parchment and tomato gravy. He used linguine. There were slices of parrot fish (the best sort of fish for the oven), juicy scallops, clams pre-cooked in white wine, huge prawns and squid.
We had different requests for the pasta. So the man separated out the ingredients for us. So cute. Our helper held no clams. Mine had no prawns. The man's portion contained everything. The three bunches of parchments with their precious contents were individually prepped before being put into the oven.
When opened, that little parchment bag didn't stink like how some seafood pasta would. The man hit the right note with the fresh mix of ingredients. The pasta was absolutely delicious. I like it done this way. Since our social calendar would be flooded from now till year end, this was effectively the one quiet meal we would have together, just us. It was like our private pre-Christmas dinner.
