Apple-Picking

We went out to the fruit garden and helped Aunt E pick the last of the apples from her trees. Her vegetable plots have been cleaned and covered to await winter. Autumn is ending very soon.

"These are cooking apples," she said, slicing one for us. "Not sweet. But it's alright." She had another batch of apples 2 weeks ago. She made a tray of apple crumble from them and served them with vanilla bean ice cream. Yummy. She knows that the man likes desserts better than I do, and how much I like apple-anything. Heh.

She knows that I'm hopeless in the kitchen. She's toying with the idea of making 2 more trays of apple crumble and not bake them, but freeze them. Then I could take it back to Singapore and bake them in my own oven. She laughed and said it wouldn't be so bad to just slot it in and turn up the heat. "What can go wrong?"

My eyes grew wide and violently declined it. The last time I attempted a half-hearted bake from the pre-mix, I blew out the oven. I'm never going near the oven again without supervision. Skype and phone texts won't help either. There's got to be a human doing it for me. :p

Your fear of ovens and baking is entirely unjustified. I volunteer to help you get over it :)

With LOTS of new clothes - 30+kg to be exact :)
Afterall "fashion" and "Paris" DO belong together in the same sentence. And tax-free shopping to boot.
Not forgetting Laduree desserts of course... burp.

pebbles: we've such a different lifestyle in sgp. :( so if we live in central london, we won't get to pick apples too! only if we live outside of london. but some of those houses with a garden- the stock ones, i call them, are very very small. eeeks.
