At The Adidas Flagship Store

We haven't bothered with shopping very much. Nobody needs to buy anything, and the bff knows I'm not keen to hit the malls at all. For curiosity's sake, the bff and her partner made us take a look at the giant Adidas flagship store along Huaihai Zhong Road (淮海中路,近思南路) which has finally opened in Shanghai after protracted delays. I didn't mind getting some Originals, Silver and Y-3 stuff.

I don't fit Adidas very well. I'm a very odd size between 32 and 34. I know that the man can't quite fit into L, and XL is too big. The sizing fits the bff and her partner fine though. No matter. We shall browse and see what the fates have in store for us.

The woman egged me on to get a fluffy pink down jacket. Hallo, I already have a fuchsia pink sitting at home! I don't want more colors. I still like my clothes drab. I don't need more winter coats, especially when I'm not on a quest to own all of Originals' or Y-3's winter collection! It's not necessary for this girl living in the tropics to amass a formidable wardrobe of winter gear. Duhh.

I found some casuals that I didn't mind. However, we were all the way up on the top floor (think the store has 5 floors in total) and we wanted to pay at the main cashier on the ground floor on our way out. Somehow, the staff managed to lose all the clothes we had picked out, and we had to wait a good 20 minutes while the staff scrambled like headless chickens to find it. Man...their inventory was a mess, and they took such a long time with sizes, and the fact that they seemed to have limited stock for everything.

Random but I like the pink jacket on you! ;) And I know what you mean about amassing a wardrobe of winter gear. I'm so going to be in trouble when we move back. Hehe

wow. i would be so happy if they opened this store when i was there. i fit adidas sizes very well. ;) and i was staying within a short walking distance from here. my usual nail spa then was on sinan lu. i like reading all your posts on shanghai. they make feel like i just left that place yesterday, yet, i don't feel negative about it any more. like how i went on that same musical equipment streets going to the same shops in your pics looking for a guzheng for my niece etc etc. like i only remember mostly the positive things. the things i like about shanghai. the character of this charming (ok maybe not everywhere, but definitely in the french concession & esp all around where i was staying) city. reading your posts make me want to visit city again.

LadyJ: half my winter clothes is left in London. Heheheh.

D: isn't wonderful how you've retained the good memories? That should be the way of keeping the good vibes. SH is both charming and annoying. Just like SG, really. Heh. Visiting it as a tourist is definitely more amenable than asking me to live there. I could do 13mths, but no more.
