年初一早餐

First day of the lunar new year of the Dragon. I woke up at 11am. Muahahahah. What an awesome sleep. I vaguely heard a shiteload of badaboomboom fireworks, but determinedly tuned it out.  I didn't know the plans for the day. But who cared. We usually dress and chill out at home before deciding where to go for lunch. Today, we were very zonked from all that drinking, laughter and playing with fireworks into the wee hours of the morning.

The bff was up earlier than I. She was still in PJs though. "Breakfast!" The bff announced. I toddled out to the dining table, stared at the plates and grinned. It was a radish cake done Hong Kong style that she brought home from Hong Kong. Bff grinned right back. "No, X.O sauce though." True blue Singaporean, this one is, who kept up with the news.

Naah. This Hong Kong supermarket-bought radish cake (萝卜糕), close to what we call 'carrot cake' in Singapore needed no sauce. For something that came out of a frozen pack, it was oddly not desiccated. It was damn tasty and still moist. What a nice teeny bite before we headed out for lunch and do random touristy things in many places that were surprisingly open today and for the week.

LadyJ: Nope. Most restaurants (Chinese, surprisingly) are open and all the shops too.
