However, I also want to buy from independent bakers. Part of the bottles of 'tasty rubbish' I've lugged to Shanghai is the 'Prosperity Trio' from Yoke Bakery. Pistachio snowballs, peanut cookies and the open-faced pineapple tarts. In the bff's bloody detailed shopping list which included photos, she specifically requested for open-faced pineapple tarts. She doesn't like those no-lard golf balls 'covered' tarts that we usually get from Le Cafe. So it was perfect to stumble upon Yoke Bakery's 'correct' version.
The good people at Yoke Bakery make music too. I love how they hold their passions close to their hearts and try to live them well. How awesome is their story? Yoke Music is Chuan and Alberta's quirky beautiful project of love for indie folk rock. Have you heard 'Crumble'? I'm hoping to hear more songs from them. They said that their debut album should be ready year end! That'll be really cool. Can't wait.
