華姐清湯腩

Knowing the man's keen interest in beef noodles (wherever and however), AY sent a message, "Go to try the clear broth of beef noodles at Tin Hau! It's on Electric Road, behind Victoria Park." I stared very hard at the message. No shop names! Grrrrr. Smart woman knew that I'd figure it out. For once, I refused to google. As useful Google is, it's taken some of the thrill and intrigue out of traveling.

We could take the MTR. But what's the fun? So we took a looooong stroll from the start of Lockhart Road in Wan Chai, to get to Electric Road in residential Tin Hau. We got there, and blinked. There were TWO shops selling beef noodles, side by side. Both shops were just as crowded, at 3pm. Alamak. Which one is it?!!! Still, we refused to google. We walked into both. The man ate 2 bowls of soup and vermicelli at each shop. 4 BOWLS in total. Of course he didn't finish the vermicelli lah. Mind you, this was after lunch. Muahahahah. However, if you don't take beef or meat, these shops are awesome. They've other choices of meat and vegetables too. :) They've yummy not-too-sweet soya bean milk.

When the man was done chewing on tendons, slurping soup and chewing on brisket, he decided that the clear broth from 華姐 (Hua Jie) was way superior. He noticed the difference between an order of beef noodles in soup, and the beef soup without noodles. Of course. The beef soup alone was somehow thicker and more flavorful. Sent a message to the girlfriend to tell her of our findings. Yes, she confirmed that 華姐 (Hua Jie) is the shop to go to. Hurrah.
