Starting To Roll

Just like that, I've zipped right over my very short first week of work on a 2-month project on office hours! It's a not-that-alien, but not-completely-comfortable-with industry. nevertheless I keep wondering if I'll be effective in the portfolio. I certainly hope so. The project suddenly landed in my lap 2 weeks ago. Something unexpected, and certainly not totally prepared for. But it promises to be challenging and fun.

Not much time on the job, so it's essential that I plunge right in and get up to speed asap. At least I'm not going in cold. Don't think I'm too rusty. I've been 'working', just not exactly the regular sort of hours in a structured environment. It's kinda like this now. Hurhurhur. I wear tees and jeans to the office. Anyway, a firm 'yes' has been said, so I'd better make myself useful this April and May, then I can dive right back to bumming around. Biggest difference in mindset for the now, I don't even whine about working nights and weekends.

Grinned when I was checking into the W Hotel in Hong Kong a week ago. At the desk stood their title for concierge- "Whatever, whenever". It could apply to a lot of things in different tones and focus. Absolutely applicable to my temporary new job. So yeah, for 7 weeks now, it's whatever, whenever. Bring it.
