Cats!

I read comics, lots of them. Cartoons. Or graphic novels, if you will. But not a hard core fan or a gamer lah. Not enough to want to go to Comic-Con or hang out in comic stores that much. Neither am I into Marvel, DC or Capcom-whatever. There's plenty of stuff floating about online for a good read. Mainstream, independent or otherwise.

Alongside 'The Sandman', I also went through 'Mr Sushi King', 'Slam Dunk', 'Ghost In The Shell' and the sorts. Then many more as I got older. 'Incognito''Fables', 'Buffy', et cetera. Newspaper reading on weekends meant flipping to the comic stripes the first thing before even bothering with the details of the headlines. I like the short-and-to-the-point sentences, the storylines and most of all, the illustrations. Many strips have been placed into hard copies, and they spell happy news. I love hard copies still. The colors and the drawings. All very nice. The writers, the illustrators and all. Talented funny bunch of people.

Had a really good chuckle over this read- Yasmine Surovec's 'Cat vs Human'. All the stereotypes and more. Hilarious insights. I've been following her blog, and it's fun to also flip through a hard copy of her much loved sarcasm.

I grew up with large dogs. Still love them, although for some reason, I never liked taking them out for walks. Each time, when it was my turn to do so, I tried to squirm out of it by offering to wash dishes (that almost always worked). But I've somehow come to prefer cats over dogs. It's either an age thing or something to do with the animal's supposed characteristics. It's slightly less challenging to care for a sedate cat than an active dog. The accompanying asthma attacks during prolonged contact with cats decreased accordingly when I didn't exactly heed the doctors' advice, and continued contact, albeit not protracted. The asthma abated in adulthood.

Like how they say, you can train a dog somewhat. A dog seems more 'obedient' than cats. They're just...into you...either the owner or the humans. But with cats, there's this individualistic streak that they hold on strongly to. (No, cats aren't natural nomads. What's with that stupid idea?) They've trained us well. Those cheesy 'animals take over the world' movies are just plain hilarious. B-grade corniness galore!

I love Cat vs. Human. But I am an unabashed cat lover. And my theory is that cats can quite successfully take over the world if they don't sleep so much. And get distracted by the birdie in the window. :P

you can try Fatale in my dropbox right now. Not your typical superhero stuff at all, it's noir/horror.

cavalock: I've Fatale sitting in my Mac unread still! thanks!

I love cats, our two furballs are quite mellow though the older one seems quite miffed that there is another addition to the family.

Thanks for the link, will try to check it out when I can :)

ps to previous comment - I'm an okay cook, though now I'm just sitting back and letting my mum do the cooking. We'll probably end up having takeouts when she goes home though ;)
