Out & About With Her Arm Sling

The sky turned dark, the wind howled, and the heavens opened. For what promised to be another major storm, it didn't rain in the area. AWESOME. I had no brolly, and there isn't a sheltered porch available at Tatsuya. Muahahahah.

Luckily we strolled in for a late seating. It was packed to the brim with humans. The servers were harried and the junior ones were completely forgetful. Even the chefs looked a tad stressed. My usual girls apologized profusely for the 'neglect'. The diners who came earlier probably had to wait quite long for their food as it was the lunch crush. At 2.15pm, the restaurant began to empty out. Whew!

With her arm still requiring a sling, and woozy from meds, my lunch date nevertheless ventured out in dreary weather to meet me. This is one of those times that I wish I possess a driving licence just so that I can pick the friends and make the journey easier for them. She had a craving for durian puffs next door. What is it about durians?!!! Anyway, she doesn't live in Singapore, and if she wants durian puffs, she can have all that she wants. We gave the coffee at the hotel a miss. It's pretty decent, as far as hotel standards go, but there're other cafes to get a good cortado. At Smitten, the woman downed 2 cups. She's so NOT going to sleep tonight.

The skies were overcast, but no rain poured forth where we were this afternoon. Bits of unsteady, inconsistent drizzle got blown around. Nothing very wet. No brolly needed. Cool and not at all humid. It was lovely weather. It held all the way long after we had coffee and hopped into our ride home.
