Last Day Of Work!

Last day of work! I was quite thrilled that a long-awaited document was dropped into the mailbox and I could properly finish a chapter of the project closing report. That report would not be finalized till July, so I did what I could and left it at that.

We were taken out to dinner at Rise at Marina Bay Sands. Wahh....buffet. Long time no eat buffet. It's a great dining choice to suit various dietary preferences. But I'm possibly the most-loser-eater-at-buffets. How do I eat S$88+++ in order to justify precious company dime?

The eyes tend to get all bleary when a buffet shows me so many varieties of food. The stomach immediately shrank. But there were some dependable chow. The cold platter had scallops and clams. Good enough. Skipped the prawns, crayfish and crabs. I was extremely happy with that bread and cheese counter. A rather fabulous spread. There was a bottle of fig jam, and dried figs. Nice. Then there were anchovies (not aged) that went well with more bread. Hurhurhur.

There was a strawberry basil sorbet that got my attention. Had a scoop. Surprisingly delicious. Of course you need to like basil. unfluff liked the not-sweet sorbet fine, but the basil was super dubious to her tastebuds. She burped and scrunched up her nose to proclaim, "The burp is sorbet-less, but basil-full." LOL. She had to go dip sticks in chocolate fondue to rid the aftertaste of basil.

Two busy months had flown by. I only hope that I actually helped out rather than be a hindrance. Work of a different nature in another industry will keep me on my toes because I won't know how to go about doing certain tasks. The whole point of taking on the project was so that I could learn something. I did. Loads. Learning has kept me focused, occupied and peppy.
