Loved The Steamed Egg
Along the way, I've forgotten that to the old folks (on my roster), being taken out to dinner is still viewed as a treat. They thoroughly enjoyed the evening at the dependable old-school Kok Sen Restaurant (it's really a kopitiam), ate slightly more than their usual portions. Well, these sort of food isn't exactly healthy for them because of all their various ailments. But once in a while, I guess it's all right. I had a little chat with the zi char eatery and they agreed to go easy on the salt and not use any MSG.
Already, the old folks complain that I put them on too strict a diet. They always try to sneak in foods on the forbidden list, and complain to high heaven each time catered/packed food don't taste like they should. Once, we had a very long argument about the taste of MSG versus wok hei. Tonight, the kitchen did a good fry-up and the old folks couldn't tell the difference. AAHAHAHA. They didn't grouse even though I only let them eat 2 prawns each, and just a tiny bit of crab.
On the not-that-long ride home, they managed to all fall sound asleep. I had to wake them up one by one. Too bad I can't carry them into bed like the way we do for babies. Old folks, my soft spot, regardless of whatever and however they've been in their younger days. I'm just sorry that I don't take them out that often. Need to work on this. Note to self, place these old folks before acquaintances. If I want to take them out on a Friday night, I must stick to it. I'll never shift the old folks again to another date again, not for mere acquaintances. Not worth it.

you're a good imp. (but aren't imps' supposed to be naughty and all!) :P
wish you continued strength and compassion to walk the journey with the old folks.
