"Because the loaf of bread is one, we, though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf." - 1 Corinthians 10:17 |
This loaf of homemade banana-walnut bread is even more precious when I know how busy the girlfriend is with managing her household, new dynamics with her 2.5y.o and newborn. Still, she took the effort and found time to bake me a loaf after ascertaining I could chew in spite of the recent removal of two impacted wisdom teeth.
Felt absolutely pampered while unwrapping the loaf. That lovely freshly baked smell without the nauseating baking-butter funk. Happiness is nibbling on homemade banana-walnut bread with a tiny dollop of fig and honey jam (from Carpenter and Cook) with sour blueberries for brunch.
Good things are meant to be savored in bite-sized portions.
