The sun went into hiding. It was a beautiful breezy afternoon. Bubbles and I merrily waved "Byeeeee!" to her mom and continued hopping about at the playground. For three seconds, I gulped in full awareness that I would be responsible for the girl's safety for the next hour. My girlfriend shouldn't need to fret about nasty scratches or even worse, bad falls. GASP! Okay, gym teacher mode pronto.
Terribly glad that the playground held greater fun for her than watching videos of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse shenanigans on the iPad. We swung, jumped, sprinted, squatted, bent and hung off rails. Then Bubbles decided she would run ahead of me, sending out squeals of laughter, thinking I'd chase her. I half-did. If I did it earnestly, she would probably run even faster and possibly trip.
She proudly showed me how she was able to hang off the bar on all fours. She was most careful in going about it. The thickness of the bar seemed fine for her tiny hands. She's got a strong grip, and she seemed to have enough strength to be able to hold her body weight well for that few seconds. Good. Then I showed her how I would jump over a railing, legs first. She wanted to follow suit, but didn't know how to jump that high. Muahahahahah. So we cheated. I swung her over. Then sternly told her not to do this without an adult around, and by that, not any of her grandparents. :P Need an adult who's able to easily lift her or cushion her fall without injuring their lower backs.
Didn't schedule pilates in the morning because I was finishing up a set of presentation slides. A quick swim more than made up for it. Thought about parkour in the evening, if there was time. That went out of the window. Monkeying around the bars with Bubbles, doing big star jumps...as in I followed whatever she did, not merely suggesting instructions that she would carry out, made for quite a fair bit of workout.

Can imagine. Definitely a work out. you are very much fun as a playmate in the playground. Im always the one to go - careful, don't fall, don't climb too high etc etc. Heehee.
you know, when you come over to play with my boys, sometimes i wonder who's the bigger kid among you three. Hahaha. BTW, have you seen the photo going around on FB about the 86yr old competing in seniors' gymnastics? i've a feeling you'll be just like that. maybe not the competition part.
impressive, bubbles!
and what better guidance to have than you!

lilsnooze: it's so fun seeing the playground from a different height and how all equipment is 'parkour-able'!
janet: well. We did put those nerf guns to good use!
misti: no credit to me. She could already do that 'hold and hang' some time back from watching other kids.
send the little one to our friend suzie wong ? :)
sinlady: for the parents to decide! Likely gym classes first.
