Grilled Sea Bream at Suju

Happiness is when the schedule is full of random stuff in the morning tagging along with friends doing their projects, heading into productive meetings for my projects, and ending the day with a much needed stress-relieving dinner with J at Suju.

Since J just came back from an eat-everything-the-eyes-saw trip, we kept tonight's menu light, and ordered only three healthy and hearty items. Figs topped with sesame sauce, homestyle cold tofu with miso and soy beans, and the seasonal fish of the day. Of course the meal was accompanied by miso soup and the restaurant's lovely steamed white rice.

Eating early in an empty restaurant meant that the charcoal-grilled sea bream that was supposed to take between 20 to 30 minutes to arrive came in under 20 minutes. It was done just nicely. Lightly salted, it was superbly tasty. I liked how the price of the whole fish was set at S$38++, and it arrived in a good size of about 400 to 500 grams. It was more than satisfying as the main protein for two people who love fish, and big enough to share if there were more at the table.

Great place, we always order a fish when the baker-at-home and I are there. The tofu salad's a fav too.
