To Brewerkz with Choya

Looked through a recent list of restaurants that accepted dogs, and decided to slowly visit most of them. Bravely took Choya out for the first time to dinner at Brewerkz at Riverside Point. That’s our old stomping ground, and the Robertson Quay/Walk area is more dog-friendly than other places.

Requested for a table outdoors at the farthest corner, and stated that we would have a small dog with us. The restaurant accommodated us. Our server didn’t notice our water bowl, and even came over with a tub of water for Choya and said hello. Wow. We’re definitely coming back, and will ask for the same table!

I was prepared to be thoroughly embarrassed by the barking or perhaps be treated to the infamous Shiba scream should she hate being on a short leash. You know what? She was so well-behaved, good as gold! We were stunned that she didn’t bark at any human. When we took turns to walk her along the river and met other dogs, she didn’t even growl at them although there was plenty of staring and bits of sniffing.

Made it through four beers, fish and chips, a burger and an apple pie. Hurrah. Dog owners should really keep their dogs on a short leash. It's always about controlling the dog. Not everybody likes the idea of having a strange dog rub up against them, or have an ill-mannered unleashed corgi steal Choya's food, and my food (till I need to scold the dog and tell off her owner). I need Choya to behave well, if not impeccably when she's out in public among other humans, and other dogs.
