We decided to stay in for the evening, and have dinner at home. Did a quick run for groceries. Randomly texted V; I was thrilled that she happened to be free for dinner, and our timings matched for a slightly later start to the meal. Glad that she didn't mind the simple fare and a quiet night in!
There were stir-fried spicy pork bulgogi and very lightly-salted crunchy broccoli. That was because the fried brown rice topped with scallops would be salty enough. There was a bottle of shrimp paste bought in Bangkok that hadn't been opened. (It's from Maepranom, and now found in almost all Bangkok supermarkets.) Used it for the fried rice. Well, stir-fried rice because no fire stove means no wok hei! Ah never mind, it's just for a different taste to the carbs. Visitors meant we had a valid reason to open a bottle of easy red to go with the food. Woooot.
Choya now knows we have visitors, and we'll sometimes eat at the table with them. She knows she can't put her paws on the dining table. However, that still happens when she's excited. I have no idea where she learnt this 'feed me' look from, but she would have a 'hopeful' look on her face when we eat. She stares, unblinkingly. That's rather disconcerting. She doesn't bark or place her paws on our thighs. GOOD. When all of us duly ignore her, she will simply go away to lie down or violently chew her toys. The dog doesn't require much affection or cuddles. But when visitors dispense attention and strokes, she won't reject. Hahaha.
