[Three Buns secured their Pets Allowed licence over the weekend of 16 November 2019. BUT they don't have complimentary minced beef for dogs anymore because they haven't gotten that specific NEA permit yet.]
On a night when we had no plans, we decided to walk the dog to Robertson Quay and see which restaurant had a table for us. Strolled into Three Buns and were given a nice corner table. Beer was in order of course. I've been eating its Impossible™ Burgers (imho, it's the best iteration in town), and thought it was time for me to try its actual beef patties. The kitchen uses grass-fed Australian Black Angus beef. I picked the simplest 'Baby Huey' (150g patty) and couldn't resist the miso fries and slaw too.
Three Buns still offers your dog unseasoned beef patties, from the same premium meat. I heard them mention that it would be 40grams of meat. When it arrived, it look more than that! I didn't clarify if 40g of meat is given with each (human) patty ordered, and if we had gotten 80g instead. The minced beef was served to Choya on a dog plate, separated out into small bits. Awwww. So nice. The dog was in a week of throwing tantrums and doing petulant eating. She usually eats two smalls meals a day. But for whatever moody reasons, she’s refusing her regular amount of food, and is down to one meal a day. Arrrrgh. I wasn’t sure she would eat it, but she does get hungry in the evening, so I was hopeful. Set the plate down in front of her.
OMG. CHOYA ATE IT ALL. HURRAH! We couldn't believe our eyes. This would be her first taste of seared minced beef. It would have a lot to do with her being hungry. Still, the last few times, even when she was hungry, she rejected steak. Hahahaa. From experience, I knew that after this, a stubborn 7-kg Shiba wouldn't need anymore food later on. Never mind that there weren't vegetables. She has enough nutrition in her daily foods. In her current mood, with this amount of meat, this was a properly delicious dinner!
