Over the years, my work projects already make me get onto plenty of online videoconferencing platforms, as well as text channels. Whatever that facilitates communications, I'll use it. Sometimes, a ten-minute face-to-face beats typing long emails, and a long email beats a one-hour video call. Slack, Zoom, Twitch, Skype, Teams, etc, you name it, I'm on it. All these channels help me stay connected to work associates and friends whom I care about.
Choya and I were supposed to have a play date with Zelda the Biewer Terrier and her pawrents, as well as S and her daughters. The little girls wanted to check out the dogs that known friendly Aunties own and have trained. Hurhurhur. However, with many of us possibly exposed (briefly) to confirmed COVID-19 cases from returning humans at the office and such (as travel rules and quarantine kicked in), we decided to be prudent and stay at home.
However, we made a date and decided we should keep to it somehow. We met online via Google Hangouts. The dogs obviously don't know what the heck was happening. Beyond voices and moving faces on a screen, they couldn't detect smells or get rubs. They were clearly not impressed. The little girls would so love to play with the dogs IRL. Ah well, that would have to wait for bit.
